Hate Crime Awareness Week
On 12 October 2026, Community Language Support Services (CLSS) brought together local residents, Council officers, and Police representatives at St Mellitus Church for a Hate Crime Awareness and Empowerment event.

About The Event

Many people face barriers when seeking help, including language difficulties, lack of information, or uncertainty about reporting concerns. Through translation support and open discussions, participants learned how to recognise hate crime, understand their rights, and access available support services.
The event provided a safe and trusted space where people could ask questions, share concerns, and build confidence in seeking help when needed. By connecting communities with local services, we helped strengthen understanding, reduce isolation, and encourage people to speak up about issues affecting their safety and wellbeing.

We are grateful to Islington Council, local Police representatives, our staff, volunteers, and everyone who attended and contributed to the event's success.

Need Support?
If you have experienced hate crime or feel unsafe, CLSS is here to listen, provide information, and help you access the support and services you need. Together, we can ensure no one faces these challenges alone.
